Music, as of late

I'm always interested in what music people have been listening to lately. Here's the bands I've been listening to recently. Please comment and let me know what music has greeted your ears lately!
  • Jack Johnson
  • Coldplay
  • Mae
  • Shawn McDonald's new album "Closer"
  • Ingrid Michaelson
  • Old Switchfoot (as in, Legend of Chin and The Beautiful Letdown)

It's so awesome to me how memories get associated with music. For instance, whenever I listen to The Beautiful Letdown I think of Jr. High and...well all the crazy emotions and everything that goes with that. Mae, on the other hand, brings to mind High School and chilling with friends on summer afternoons.

What music means something to you, and why?

  1. Ingrid Michaelson is one of my favorites. She always reminds me of Dani, and specifically this last summer hanging out with her.
Switchfoot, and the albums you mentioned, although I can't think of a specific age, always remind me of Evan.
Innocence Mission, Fiest, and The Cranberries make me think of being a kid, and hanging out with my older sisters when they were in town.
Jars of Clay takes me to the times of dancing around in my living room, using our age old coffee table as a stage. That memory spans many years.
Coldplay reminds me of late nights listening to music in bed and letting my thoughts take me where ever they darn well wanted to.
Keane, Snow Patrol, Lifehouse, Regina Spektor, Train, Norah Jones, Sixpence none the Richer, Pedro the Lion, The Postal Service, Rosie Thomas, Third Eye Blind, Dave Matthews, John Mayer... the list full of memories could go on and on.
Newer music is making new memories. Michael Buble, Manchester Orchestra, Priscilla Ahn, The Once soundtrack, Wakey!Wakey!, Yiel Niam, Frightened Rabbit, Erin McCarley, Chairlift, Civil Twilight...
There is always so much to say about music.
